Different approach to a Necron Wraithwing @ 1750pts.
So, something a little different. I'm gonna try this list at a tournament this weekend, so we'll actually see how it works. I'm worried about killpoints, but other then that, 11 MCs and 9 wraiths is nothing to frown at. Tomb spyders are actually surprisingly resilient with their scarab swarm meatshield, so they'll clot up the midfield meanwhile the wraiths hopefully cause havoc.
Lord with destroyer body, ressurection orb, warscythe, gaze of flame @ 195pts.
Lord with destroyer body, resurrection orb, warscythe, chronometron @ 190pts.
5 Immortals @ 140pts.
10 Warriors @ 180pts.
10 Warriors @ 180pts.
3 Wraiths @ 123pts.
3 Wraiths @ 123pts.
3 Wraiths @ 123pts.
3 Tomb Spyders @ 165pts.
3 Tomb Spyders @ 165pts.
3 Tomb Spyders @ 165pts
There is a variant, in which I drop 3 spyders and take another 5-man immortal squad for more suppression fire, but I feel the spyders are worth it if you have the slot free.
Thoughts? We'll see after the weekend how bad a beating I take :D .

I think the idea of nine tomb spiders coming up the middle freaks me out at 1850, Whats their T?
ReplyDeleteThey're t6. Thx.
ReplyDeleteWhy two res orbs? Perhaps you could make do with one, and use the points for a phase shifter or something ...
ReplyDeleteinteresting idea. The reasoning was that it would be harder to remove the res orbs and thus the wraiths would survive more. They really need to be as resilient as possible without resorting to monoliths, but I'll certainly consider dropping the second one.
ReplyDeleteThx.
